6 Easy Homemade Wormers for Dogs

The most common parasitic worms in dogs are tapeworms, roundworms, whipworms, and hookworms. The symptoms of parasites are vomiting, diarrhea, constant coughing, scratching the tail base, etc. Most of the de-worming medications are costly and are also toxic. This poison will cause harm later for the canines. It is best to have some homemade wormers that has no side effects and works faster than the medications. The natural products will also add some nutrition for the canines.

  • Carrots diced into small pieces must be given raw to the dogs. The dogs will eat them but will not digest the same. This undigested carrot bits acts as de-wormer and get the worms along with t while getting eliminated. The carrots will scrape the mucus membrane along with the worms. Give this raw vegetable daily for a week or two.

  • Cloves: Freshly ground cloves make a great wormer for dogs. One clove per day for a week will be enough. The dose will be dependent on the size of the dog. Give only ¼ of a clove for small dogs, ½ for medium sized dogs, and one whole clove for a large dog. Mix the ground clove in its daily diet. It has detoxifying effects on the worms and eliminates them.

  • Chamomile tea: can expel the roundworms from dogs. It will soothe the digestive system and eliminates the worms. It is not fast to acts but effective and safe to be used as long term solution.

  • Garlic: Raw garlic fed to the dogs will remove the parasitic worms and organisms like protozoa. Garlic can also heal any infections caused by these parasites. It is also a great immune stimulator by increasing the production and activities of the killer cells that fight the invaders. One of the best ways to remove the worms in dogs is to boost its immune system. Half the job is by the immune system in getting rid of the worms and the wormers are only assisting.

  • Mint: Chop some fresh mint leaves and make a mint tea. Make the dog drink this tea to eliminate the worms from its digestive system. Mix the mint with a pinch of cinnamon and feed the dogs. This will create an unpleasant environment for the worms inside. It will also increase the appetite and the dog will east more. This will have more bowel movements and the worms will be easily eliminated.

  • Pumpkin seeds: Feed some ground coarse raw pumpkin seeds to the dogs. A particular amino acid in pumpkin seeds, cucurbitin, has lethal effects on the parasites. It will paralyze the worms and thus eliminates from the canine system. The nutrients in the pumpkin seeds will benefit the dogs that improve its health as well. Avoid the store bought salty seeds, get some fresh seeds instead. If the dog does not take the seeds directly, mix the same in its meals.

The worms will remove many nutrients from the dog’s body. It is important to give the dogs some nutritious foods along with fiber. Feed them as much raw vegetables as possible on daily basis. Also give some immune boosting supplements.
