Yesterday's Auto-Surf Ponzi Is Today's Revenue Sharing Scam

Nov 13th 2010 at 9:23 AM

Remember the Auto-Surf Craze?  Today’s Auto-Surf can be best summed up as all of the “Sharing Revenue Sites” that are launching by the minute.  For those of us who have been around for a while, we have lived through the PONZI scheme idea that truly did define the Auto-Surf frenzy.  You will recall some of the bigger Auto-Surfs that got raided by the FBI and others in authority that correctly labeled them PONZI schemes.

Today those same folks (who are not in jail) are operating under the “revenue share” cloud that for all intents and purposes remains a PONZI scheme.  In essence, it requires new people and their money in order to keep the program growing and thriving.

Do Ponzi’s work?  In a word, yes.  For those early in, and savvy enough to know when the thing has dried up, absolutely.  Many made thousands in the auto-surf frenzy.  Less so here with the Sharing sites I would argue, but still, some made some decent scratch.

The problem today, much like it was yesterday, is that scammers, liars, thieves et al….reign supreme and are opening more sites than those truly not thinking they are a ponzi and truly not trying to rip people off.  At some point, the bad guys always outshine those who are simply naive.

Although I have argued in the past that you can sustain some money making in these kinds of endeavors, in the end the bottom line is always the same.  You will lose more than you gain because too many on-line are only concerned about stealing from you.  That is now and was yesterday, the bottom line.  Guess what.  It will be tomorrow too.

I’ve said it before and I will reiterate it here.  Many states allow gambling.  If you are so inclined, go to your local casino and try there.  You will likely have as good, if not better results while not putting yourself or your (pay accounts) in jeopardy.  Good luck out there folks.  Whether it is auto-surf or revenue sharing, it is likely a bad idea.
