Vaginal Infection: Yeast (candidiasis)

Yeast infection occurs when yeast in the vagina increase and start attacking the vaginal tissues. Yeast is not

bacteria, but a type of fungus. These infections are usually caused by a type of yeast called Candida albicans, but

other species of yeast can also cause. Recent antibiotic use, douching, or a higher frequency of sexual intercourse

are factors that can increase the likelihood of infection. Yeast infections are more common in diabetic women,

Symptoms of yeast infection

Clumpy or thin, white

Slight smell like cheese, or no odor

Intense itching or burning in the vagina

Burning with urination

Swelling and redness of the vulva

Treatment of infection by yeasts

Yeast infection is treated with a vaginal antifungal yeast infection no more review cream, but sometimes that prescribed some pills against these

organisms. During treatment:

Finish all your Health medication, even if your symptoms go away.

Apply the cream before bed and lie down after the application so that it does not drip.

Do not douche or use tampons.

Do not rely on a diaphragm or condoms, because the cream may weaken them.

Avoid intercourse if so directed by your health care provider.

If your symptoms persist or come back when you finish your medicine, call your health care provider.
