Will the real SEO/Social Marketing Expert please stand up?

Between Twitter and LinkedIN, I believe I encounter at least 12 self-professed social media marketing experts (professionals).  I find this fascinating: the sheer supply of experts and virtually each and every one is available for hire.  We all want to be successful on line, what's a person to do?

We all know that the fundamental formula for success for business on the web.  That is to drive traffic to a web store (ecommerce site) and convert them from an interested browser to a full-fledged customer.

Drive Traffic

If you're just starting out on the web, you hardly can navigate yourself through your administration panel, let alone drive traffic to your site.

There are four basic precepts on how to do this:

1.       SEO ranking;

2.       Social media marketing;

3.       Ad words; and

4.       Affiliate marketing

I think we can all agree that any (or all) of these put into place would result in an increase in traffic.  So, the real trick is in how to make each work.

SEO Ranking

1.       Fresh content – no real shortcut or mystery, you just have to write it.

2.       BacklinksSubmitting to directories and submitting articles.

3.       Authority – Commenting on related blogs; publishing articles; press releases.

4.       Key Word Optimization Strategy

5.       Press Releases

Social media marketing

1.       Twitter

2.       Facebook

3.       LinkedIN

4.       Social Bookmarking

Paid Advertising

1.       adwords

2.       other advertising

3.       affiliate advertising

Summary

So, there you go.  If you're not inundated with information overload, please don't be baffled.  I am NOT a SEO/Social expert!  Simply a web denizen, like yourself, trying to figure out what works and what doesn't.

name it n tame it ... if it doesn't have explicit instructions that follow sequentially, then don't follow ... become unbaffled asap ... the money is in the autoresponder set up properly for subscribers ... sum it up and get some $$$$$
