Being involved in any job requires diverse expectations from your employer or your client, whether you are a freelancer or a regular employee. These expectations usually require you to be flexible to their undying demands and needs. However, there are employers that are too demanding and do takes advantage of you particularly of those that are freelancers.

Photographer’s Job

One of the most in demand freelance job today is being a photographer. Photographers are mostly needed on various occasions particularly on weddings. Photographers typically do all the photographic related jobs in any occasions which make them vulnerable to pressure and hassle, thus it is very important to consider your right as a photographer.

Considering your right does not just benefit you but your job as well. But how will you highlight these rights then? Basically, the most important thing you should do is to have a contract. Yes it may sound intimidating and very formal, but note that having a contract will enhance your credibility and professionalism.

Benefit of a Contract

There are various benefits you can get from having a contract. First, it will give an initial impression of professionalism. Contracts will let your clients know that you have standards during your work, you know how to work, and you are knowledgeable of the flow of the business, thus you will be greatly trusted.

Second, you will be able to control your work during the job process. This is perhaps the most important thing in an agreement contract template. You will be able to let your clients know how you wanted the job will flow. You are the photographer, you know what’s best. And that’s what you should be able to convey to your clients.

Third, through the contract you be able to assure your payment because it allows the client to choose the payment process and when to pay you. Remember that contracts are the hardest thing to break once you have signed into it, thus you won’t have to be hassled reminding for a payment.

What Should It Contain

A photographer contract template should contain things that both benefit you and your client. This is to make sure that your client won’t feel uneasy because of a self-centered tone contract. In addition, this will add reputation to your name and your record. These are the following contents needed on your contact:

· Basic Information

This information will benefit you in a way that you will be able to know the needed information to contact your client, and for your client to contact you in any case. In your part, it should contain your name, name of the business, address, and contact number. For the client’s part, there should be spaces for name, address, contact number, and of course signature from the both of you.

· Job Hours

The job hours should contain both your hour availability and your clients preferred time. Make sure that both you and your client will agree on a specific time. This is mostly important for photography wedding contact template since there are additional activities such as reception.

· Cost of Service

This is very necessary not only for photographers but to any artist contract template as well. Price or cost of service will enable the clients to pay you with a fixed amount that was stated in the contract. Once the client has signed the contract, it means the he agrees with your fees. But make sure too to elaborate your service cost if there are any additional.

· Payment Terms

This section will let your clients know your payment terms and how you wanted to receive your payment. Make sure that the client is comfortable with it to avoid any hassle in the future. This may include deposit payments, or full payments just right after the event. It all depends on you how you will like it to be.

· Items

Items section is base on the items you will deliver after the event. Mostly, this involves albums, digital photos, prints, frames, etc. This can also be place along with the cost of service since this section will also tell the clients the needed cost. You can choose to have the items in package that usually interest the clients.

· Delivery Date

Along with the deliverable items, you need to state the delivery date of the items. You are accountable of this part since it is your name on stake. Choose for a date that is comfortable with you, but make sure to consider the client’s desired date.
