Running might be difficult to many depending on the amount of belly fat they are carrying, so fast walking would be an easier option. Any strenuous exercise is ideal for losing belly fat by increasing the metabolism. For those who find it hard to do any type of running an easier option would be on a treadmill indoors.

Walking too is a good way to help lose stubourn belly fat. Remember that slow walking does not help lose weight, therefore the faster you can walk the more weight you can lose. In order to achieve this you need to walk at a brisk pace for at least 30-40 minutes a day.

Cycling is both good for losing weight and gets you fitter at the same time. Not only do you get fitter and healthier but you will actually see the results as your waistline becomes thinner. Again, you need to cycle for at least 30 minutes per day to see any results.

Running and Jogging are two of the best ways to help lose belly fat as you are increasing you heart rate and burning calories at the same time. Swimming is a very good way to losing excess weight as you are working all the muscles, therefore you are burning fat all over the body not just around the waistline. By swimming lazily will not burn off fat, therefore as with running or jogging you need to maintain a faster pace and get your heart rate pumping.

Hiking is also a good fat burner though you may need to walk some distance as you are not working your body as hard as you would be when jogging for example. Cardio workouts can be difficult to some so hiking would be an easier alternative.

Diet has to be one of the most important things to remember when trying to lose belly fat or overall weight in general. The most popular foods to help lose weight are those that are high in protein such as eggs, low fat dairy products, lean meat, whole grains, oatmeal, beans and low fat milk.

Sugary foods should be avoided as they will just put unwanted fat back on, therefore any exercise you have been doing would have been a waste of time.Junk foods too must be avoided, however the odd take away will not hurt as long as they are not eaten too often.
