Things to Consider While Purchasing Camping Tents

Jul 7th 2019 at 10:43 PM

There is a large variety of camping tents available both in the market as well as e-commerce websites. In order to choose the right camping tent that’d suit your needs and preferences, the first thing that you’d need to do is assess the type of camping trip it is that you are going to engage in, the kind of weather conditions that you’d be encountering while you are on the trip, and the number of people you’d camping with. One needs to look for some features in the camping tent that’d allow you to enjoy the camping tent for the many years that is to come. Consider what your budget is and accordingly decide beforehand how much you could spend on a new tent. Once you have determined the sum of money that you could spend, the luxury tents manufacturers suggest, then look and analyze the key features in the tent that is within your budget.

The key features that you’d need to consider in a camping tent is the size, rainfly, materials including its mesh, the type of stitching it has, zippers, and the types of poles it comes with. You’d also want to consider whether you want to have a luxury resort tent or a regular camping tent.

How big the tent needs to be?

One of the most important things that you need to consider is the size of tent that you need, especially when you are planning a backpack camp or a canoe camp. If you are not planning a backpack camp, then the weight and size of the camp doesn’t necessarily have to be limited, as long as it just fits in your vehicle. The size/capacity of the tents are measures by its square footage coverage area, as well as the number of sleeping bags that it can accommodate. For example, a standard camping tent would accommodate only two people. It wouldn’t provide lots of extra space for storage and wouldn’t have much elbow room. You might go for a four-person camping tent and find it more comfortable for two people. With the 4-person safari tents for sale, you could have enough space for storing your camping gears, and will have enough elbow space as well. If you are a family of four people, then a 6-person tent would be a great option for you.

What other features your need to look for?

  • Aluminum poles. The poles that comes with most tents is often made of fiber-glass, and it is fragile and could break easily. So, it is better that you consider aluminum poles which are stronger.
  • One-piece tub-floor. It is important the tent floor is waterproof, and is made with waterproof material. The material on the surface should ne sown a couple of inches upwards on the side of the tent walls.
  • Adequate rainfly. The rainfly could be considered as the tent’s umbrella. It is always better to have tents with bigger rainfly. You should consider a tent that has rainfly coming down from the sides too rather than just being limited to the top.
