The Word Nobody Wants To Hear!

Oct 11th 2010 at 8:58 PM

I really don't know why.  But so many people think you can just get on line, start a business and sit back and the checks will just start rolling in. Well if you haven't found out yet this is not true.  Not to say any thing bad about any thing on the net, there is advertising out there trying to get new people to think this way.

Nothing comes to you Free, well unless your luck is great and you pick the winning lotto number. The word nobody wants to hear:

W - Winning Attitude

O - Over and Over--set a goal and work hard over and over until you reach it.

R - Respect--You have to have respect for yourself and everyone else or your success
will be short lived.

K - Keep Going--Don't give up-Winners never Quit!

Just a little example to help see why work is involved.

Say you open up a grocery store.  You get it stocked and have everything ready to really get started.  Then you just go home and watch TV and Don't let anyone know you have a store or even unlock the door.  But while you are sitting at home having fun, you are wondering why you are not getting checks in the mail from your business.

Now I think most people would think this is a crazy story and no one would do that.

Well, when you pay some money for an online business and just sit back waiting for the money to roll in, you are doing exactly like the person who opened the store.

No matter what opportunity you get involved with you are the CEO of your own business.  Which means you must work and run it.  At least until you are able to build it to take care of itself.  Sometimes money will do this.  But the average person does not have the funds to pay some body to do everything for them.  At least not right from the start.

So there is that word again.  WORK!  But make it fun. It shouldn't be something you hate or dread doing.  Or it just won't end up being a success.

Hope this will give you just a little kick to keep you going.

Don't let anyone steal your Dream!

Thanks for sharing there are lots of scams that say give me your money and we will do it all for you it does not work that way. You only get what you put in which means lots of work to build it where you want it.

I love the grocery store analogy. There is no substitute for work. the harder I work, the luckier I become.

Thanks for your input. As long as people have a something for nothing attitude, scammers will stay in business. You know the old saying, If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Excellent article with a much needed message. Many people will just throw money at a program and then wonder why they are not getting results. (I know a few of those people myself.) If everyone had your attitude, marketing online would be a much more successful venture for many. Great W-O-R-K!

Reminds of farming. When i started back in 1964 I needed some fast Cash so i planted radishes (28 day Crop) wildly fluctuating market but opportunity to TURNOVER capital. But a successful ag business is based on consistency and Asset Building...therefore you slowly re-invest in Livestock, orchards and longer term annual Crops, always staying diversified. Watched neighbors come and go who put all eggs in one crop basket, that was HOT last year! Growing any Business On-line or Off-line need the fundamentals FOUND in the volumes of TEXT showing the Proved System. Go to My FacePlate and access the Audio of the complete Book which stared My career in 1960 as a college freshman. It has helped Thousands to learn the SKILL OF WORK

Hi Sherry!

Good article and very true for the most part. The fact is, many people do pay to outsource the advertising, promoting and things like that to build a business, but it is much more rewarding and faster if they do get involved personally... even if it's only a little bit every day.

The problem is, many people think it's going to happen overnight or in just a few months when they hire someone else or expect others to do the work for them, which is far from the truth, as you've said.

Building a successful, long term residual income does take patience, time and commitment... just like any long term relationship does and relationships are the basic foundation and building blocks that true success in anything is built upon.

Very good article. It is work indeed, a lot of it. It can be done but it is not easy although they try to let us believe that. I have also written several atricles about this subject.

Hello, Sherry: Excellent and insightful article! Just the sort of message many aspiring Internet Marketers need to hear. I usually try to avoid using four-letter words, but in this case, W-O-R-K is something we need to pay attention to if we want to enjoy online success! :-)

Very good manipulation of the acronym WORK. You are so right on in this article. You need to have the goal, the reason to keep on keeping on, and the persistence to work for it.
