The Gift of Re-Gifting

Re-gifting is a great way to pass on things which will be more useful to someone else. However, re-gifting offers a wonderful opportunity to advertise something at the same time. Did you ever think about all those times you stumbled upon someone else’s lighter, cap, old T-shirt, or a pencil?


What if you, by taking some of these things yourself, managed to help someone who was trying to promote their company? By encouraging re-gifting, companies are making sure that more people will know about them through word-of-mouth as well.

Regifting is Good

People frown upon the thought that their gift will end up at the hands or a home of someone who was not intended to have it in the first place. However, in the world of business and marketing, the more this gift travels, the better message it sends. This is especially the case with promotional products which are made with the intention to draw more people to one company or a business.

Company can encourage re-gifting of their products in the simplest way – they will give away more than one product at the time. This way they are sharing their wealth, showing their god will, but at the same time they are ensuring that their name and logo will get to more places, because people will find someone to give the other gift easily.

When companies invest into their promotional products, they usually have target groups in their mind, and work for them. However, it can happen that someone outside their target group starts using their promotional products and inquires about the company whose logo was on the product.


By accepting promotional products yourself, you help a company raise awareness of its existence and its services at the same time. Even a lighter forgotten in a cafe or a long lost pen may find its way to new people who will use them and spread the message of the company that made them.

When investing in promotional products, companies are aware that too much of anything is usually bad, so instead they opt for diversity. Many different items can do more than a pile of plain lighters or a box of pencils alone. Re-gifting happens naturally and it practically doubles the advertising impact with less effort.
