Stunning Coatbridge woman celebrates success in top beauty contest
A STUNNING Kirkshaws woman triumphed over all the competition to win a coveted beauty title.
Kerry McAdams won over the judges in her debut pageant to be crowned Miss West End for 2015-16 at a ceremony held in the David Lloyd Centre in Glasgow.

Now she is looking forward to enjoying an exciting year ahead, where she hopes to make a worthwhile contribution to the contest’s chosen charity, supporting kidney research, by carrying out her duties over the next 12 months.
Kerry’s sisters, Amy and Kim, put her forward for the competition without her knowledge, and she was “surprised and a bit apprehensive” when told she was a finalist.
She told the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser : “Initially it was quite nerve-wracking, but it was a really good experience seeing what everyone was bringing to the competition.
“My mum and my two sisters were there and it was great to have their support.”
The competition was held in front of a large audience and a panel of judges, including former winners and sponsors; and contestants were posed a variety of questions over a series of four rounds before the winner was announced.
Kerry currently works in retail and is also completing college studies, aiming to attend university to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
She has previously worked for charitable organisations, and successfully completed the Great Scottish Run in September to raise funds for St Andrew’s Hospice.
Kerry added: “Working full-time as well as studying keeps me on my toes. The girls were great to work with, and I’d definitely like to do something on a grander scale.”
