Starting a new business, how to get an LLC and EIN without hiring a law firm.
We get a lot of emails from customers about filing for an EIN and LLC for their new internet business.
An EIN is basically like a tax id for a new business and its required in order to operate a business in the USA, its required even just to open a bank account for your new business.
LLC stands for Limited Liability Company, generally speaking new small business owners start with this type of business entity for liability, cost and usually the state filing rules for these type of businesses is much less thurough.
Employer Identification Numbers, EIN's, can be obtained free if you have the time to research SS-5 form filing standards and take the time to research, complete and the file the form yourself it can be done, if you submit an inaccurate SS-5 it can delay your EIN issuance up to 3 weeks.
Often times business hire a local law firm to file their business documents and costs generally range from $500 to $1,500, call a local law firm for a quote just ask for a new business formation and ask if an LLC and EIN may suit you then ask about the cost.
Another option is to hire an online business filing specialist company, IRS EIN Online Application is one that we've used in the past for filing our EIN's and I work with one of their customer service agencies, great work and fair price.
For LLC's and other artciles of incorproation filings I would suggest Articles of Incorporation Filing Solutions, regardless you'll be required to pay state filing fees and these documents can be trickier to complete so we suggest a specialist or law firm.
These services combined will cost around $300 to $500 and will include a lot of other informaiton you'll need while starting your new business.
Hope this helps some of you!
