Solar stations and poles - Power where you need it, when you need it

Jul 28th 2015 at 1:59 AM

The argument about renewable, cheap energy is over.  The old style power systems may still be rattling around, but solar won. In the world of mobile, rechargeable platforms, it makes no sense at all to continue to depend on expensive charging options. You need power available, when and where you need it.

This is just common sense. Everybody has experienced that wonderful low power environment where you’re suddenly stranded without power in the middle of work or play. Communications are part of life and business. Easy access to charging facilities is a no-brainer. In the US, the first big moves to instant access to power are already happening.

The new approach is a range of solar powered charging stations ranging from solar power attachments on park benches and simple plug and play power poles. The solar stations provide valuable accessibility for charging cell phones and different gadgets. These stations deliver environmentally friendly power, cost practically nothing to operate, and provide useful amenities for your residents, customers, and shoppers.

All you need to do is plug in and recharge. A company called Sun Charge Systems, Inc. is creating these stations to make power available in public spaces like parks, malls, colleges, and other Main Street environments. This is “innovation” turned in to “must – have onsite assets”.

On the business side of the equation - If you’re in a job like sales and you’re on the road all the time, where keeping your phone or tablet charged is a must, they’re right there when you need them.  Your pocket office needs to be operational at all times. It only takes a few minutes to get enough charge to be back in business again, too. A cell phone charging station means you don’t miss important calls and messages.

The arrival of the solar stations has generated some interesting dynamics onsite. In commercial environments, the solar stations attract customers simply because they’re so useful. In wilderness areas, they’re a survival asset, able to keep people in contact when they need help as well as powering the cameras and videos.
