Smaller 'To Do' List = Greater Productivity (The 80/20 Rule

Most, if not all of you, are familiar with the 80/20 Rule but how many of you truly believe in it or actively implement it in your day to day activities.
There are a lot of multi-step programs out there that are aimed at building a better future for yourself. They come in many forms and are all very useful if implemented properly. We all know the benefits of having a 'To Do' list and even more so, how important it is to check this list off everyday. "Energy and persistence conquer all things!" Benjamin Franklin.

For the purpose of this article, I would like to amend the great Benjamin Franklin's words to incorporate 'Efficiency.' Energy on its own could lead one to assume that it refers to a massive 'To Do' list which one has to work all one can merely to reach the end. This is not at all productive. In fact, it is quite the opposite.  Lets try an experiment...Imagine yourself writing a mammoth to do list because you think, "The more I do, the more productive it makes me!" Now fast forward to the end of the day at the end of the week after checking off this 'to do' list. Do you think you have utilised your energy effectively and efficiently? In all honesty, you will find your answer to be a resounding no.

Now let us compile an efficient, effective 'To Do' list where our energy is both focused and persistent.

Sharing News, Tips and Relevant information
Sharing information with your network or team is a classic way of utilising little energy to great effect. Reach out to your team individually and show them you are a compassionate leader. Become accessible to your network and make all in it feel that you are aware they exist.  "I read this article and I thought of you..."

Build Your Network
Set yourself a target of how many people you can introduce into your network each day and set about achieving this goal. Now this does not have to be affiliated, it can just be finding 2 new Facebook friends on your page or inviting 2 new people to join your LinkedIn Network.

Motivate Your Team
Work through your team's movements yesterday and send them a note to congratulate them on a sale or achieving a new rank. It doesn't have to be anything so grand. Try to find anything positive that your team are doing right now and show them that you're noticing and appreciating their efforts.

Since I have been checking of these three tasks daily, I have noticed a significant increase in productivity within my team. If you are involved in muli-level marketing, I would suggest a fourth task to check off and that is Duplication. Teach your team members to duplicate your efforts and you will begin to notice the 80/20 Rule working in your own business.
