Short On Bookings

Here's some of the things I've learned from my many years of being in direct sales.

  1. Send a catalog to a co-worker who has moved.
  2. Send a catalog to one of your direct sales reps.
  3. Post a catalog in the teacher's lounge at your child's school.
  4. Ask your child's teacher if she/he would like to host a show.
  5. Have a booth at a fair.
  6. Give a catalog to the receptionist at your doctor's or dentist office
  7. Call all your past hosts.
  8. Host your own show.
  9. Wear you company logo
  10. Mention host specials and benefits of hosting a show at your parties.
  11. Mention how much your "average: host gets
  12. Share about upcoming specials at shows and during phone calls.
  13. Encourage hosts to rebook shows when new products come out.
  14. Encourage relatives to host shows
  15. Start and email address book of customers who want to know what the monthly specials are
  16. Encourage your hosts and guests to refer potential hosts to you
  17. Promote different show options
  18. Follow through on every booking lead
  19. ASK, ASK, ASK
  20. Call at least two potential hosts a night
  21. Ask friends to help you get started or to reach a certain goal
  22. Use visual - flyers
  23. Have a past host share all she received by having a show
  24. Don't be shy talking about your products or your business
  25. Write down names of people who "owe you a favor" and then follow up
  26. Call potential hosts who postponed or never booked
  27. Call anyone who said "maybe"
  28. Leave your business card or a flyer on bulletin boards or in a local business
  29. Offer a bonus for Hosts who book on days and/or months you need an extra show
