New brain discovered: recognize animals
Scientists have identified a new function of the amygdale unraveled this part of our brain helps us recognize animals.
The researchers gathered 41 people. All subjects had epilepsy and had to undergo surgery. For this operation electrodes were placed in their brains. And that made the subjects suitable for this study: namely, electrodes can keep the brain activity in the eye in a very precise manner.
The researchers showed the subjects see a hundred photos. The pictures were of people, animals, objects and monuments. http://health.proconview.com/ The scientists looked where neurons in the amygdale and surrounding parts of the brains reacted to.

The amygdale is closely involved in emotions, but researchers found that this part of the brain still has another function. Namely: to recognize animals. The right part of the amygdale responded because only animals and interestingly not on humans, the researchers conclude in the journal Nature Neuroscience.
Which animal subjects were presented, did not matter. For example, they reacted as strongly to mammals and birds. And there was no distinction between animals that were dangerous or harmless.
The researchers think or to know why the amygdale http://health.proconview.com/joey-atlas-scam/react so strongly to animals. The property would date from the time when animals occupied a very important role in a person's life. The time when early humans hunted animals while animals themselves were on the menu.
