Marketing Articles to Drive Massive Traffic to Your Website

Oct 3rd 2010 at 3:45 PM

Article marketing has rapidly become a popular and very successful method of driving traffic to websites. In order to be successful at even article marketing 101, you have to have a plan that is a proven strategy to successfully drive traffic to your site.

Once you have a website or blog online and products to sell, your total job is driving traffic to your offers and to your squeeze page so you build a list.

The simple truth: No List = No Traffic = No Sales

If you are new to article marketing, a few other truths might be helpful to start you off on the right path. As with any new subject, you have to have a clear focus on what you are doing so you stand less chance of losing money.

Before you do anything, you need a niche that interests you and has a large following. Once you find your niche and create a website, you will need to select related keywords and phrases that will help those looking for information within your niche find your articles. Your keywords need to be naturally used on your blog or website. Your keyword selection will attract the search engines and get both your articles and platform (blog or website) ranked on them.

Your articles can be researched and written by you, written by a ghostwriter hired by you or rewritten from PLR originals that you can find free on the Internet or purchased from various authors. Any of those options will get you a supply of articles to submit to the search engines.

One of the most common problems marketers new to article writing experience is not knowing what to write. Finding current and popular topics is not difficult if you look at some resources within your selected niche. The following paragraphs will provide a few additional article marketing tips. They will be effective if you make them part of your approach to article marketing.

Join forums in your niche and pay attention to the problems people complain about or their requests for information or solutions to problems. Every time someone asks for help with a problem or requests information, you have a possible topic that will become a valuable resource for those with the problems. Niche forums can be a resource for an endless pool of solutions for your articles.

Every year has several holidays that you can use to attract visitors to your products if your articles have a current holiday hook. Almost everybody likes new holiday ideas or money-saving tips for celebrations or gifts. A great number of those who read your articles will follow your link back to your blog or website. Holidays are golden to marketers.

One often overlooked source of topics for your article marketing strategy is public sources that you visit every single day. When you are shopping for your groceries, visit the magazine section and pay attention to the headlines on the covers. They are reflections of many social attitudes or subjects of interest.

Check the bestseller lists on Amazon, in bookstores or in the magazine section of the Sunday newspapers for hot topics of interest to the public. Of course, you could always just ask your blog visitors what information they need or survey the visitors to your site.

A successful article marketing strategy is not magic. You have to pick your niche and then provide what your niche members want. It really is that simple. Don’t complicate it, and you will find success.

You might want to edit this article. I don't think you intended it to come out like that.
