mailVU Welcomes Former HP Gabble Users

Feb 22nd 2011 at 9:09 PM

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has announced that they are discontinuing their video messaging service, effective March 11. Below is an email the company sent to their users:

Thanks for your use of Gabble. HP is concluding its Gabble beta trial and the website will be shutting down on March 11, 2011.

At this point, we are no longer accepting new registrations, and we will stop accepting new posts on February 25, 2011. However, your videos will be available for download from now until our final day on March 11, 2011.

We have added a link named “Download” below each of your videos viewable in the main Videos section. All videos will be downloaded in the original format that they were created. If you recorded them via our in-browser recorder, then they will be downloaded as flash video files, *.flv.

Thank you for supporting Gabble during our beta trial and feel free to email us at gabble@hp.com if you have any questions.

-The Gabble Team

mailVU welcomes former HP Gabble users to our video mail service. With mailVU, anyone with a webcam can quickly and easily click, record, and send private, 10-minute video messages. Our unique privacy settings include the ability to set self-destruct criteria on number of views or number of days that the video message will be available. We also give the user the ability to retract a video after it is sent, deleting it from the servers and preventing future views.

Our video mails, even on the free service plan, play on most new smartphones, including iPhone and Android, and most tablets. Unlike Gabble, we neither require a user account be set up, nor do we require a software download. Want to put a mailVU recording widget on your website?  We can do that too!

For business users, we can brand mailVU’s video email service with your company’s logo and colors. With business accounts, pre-recorded videos can be uploaded and distributed as video mail.  Ask about our API and how we can integrate our platform to your service.

Interested?  Contact us at support@mailVU.com. We look forward to working with you!
