I love my home with my husband Jim and our kids... Maja, Badger and Chet. Our dogs, but yes, our kids. I love to play golf, fish, watch a good movie and read a good book every once-in-awhile.

I truly enjoy working my business... Text Ad Exchange Owner, I own 5... which keeps me busy. It`s also helped me to grow, make new friends and relationships.

Like Your Business and Be Dedicated To It!

Nov 17th 2010 at 9:39 AM

Many people today are looking for a home-based business,
but I don't think they all understand what the requirements
for a business are. There are several things that need to be
considered before starting a business. Two things that are extremely
important...  Liking the business you choose and the dedication to see
your new business grow and flourish.

Liking your business is a must. You will be better at communitcating
what your business has to offer and your business will benefit. That
is, if you are communicating ALL the positive aspects of what you have
to offer. The internet provides avenues of promotion that did not exist
years ago. So, be careful about the picture you present to the public.
Character still plays a huge roll in success. Word of mouth was and is
one of the largest promoters of any business!

Once you have decided on your business and have it started, the major
requirement, in my minds eye, is having the dedication to work and grow
your business. Don't think that referrals are going to come from countless
amounts of customers. Yes, this is extremely helpful and it is one of the
tools you should be using to grow your name/business, but in the end...
You are responsible for the your outcome. Remember, the word of mouth
begins with you. Don't ask others to do, what you aren't willing do for yourself.

In the end, the more time, energy and resources you apply to your business;
the more benefits and rewards are yours. Dedicate yourself to searching out
and applying the things that can assist you in your quest for a thriving
and successful business and apply them.

And remember, your business will not be made overnight... It takes time!
Be sure to give your business the time it will require to grow. To many
people want instant gratification and loose interest. They quit and may
have missed something wonderful... Their own successful business!

Well said, I agree on all the points you set: like it, be dedicated, work hard and have fun too. Without the last you may burnt-out and get tired fast but when you have a fun, there is no hard work :)

Thank You flconversation! I believe the journey is what makes it all worth it. It's a learning process and we can never learn to much. Of course, sifting thru the what works and what doesn't is another matter, but it all works for one reason or another. Enjoy what you do and have fun doing it!

Brenda, this is so true. When you start your online biz, there might be a overwhelming mass of information. You first of all have to decide, what kind of biz you like and you'll be able to follow. And than simply stick to it. Try not to be distracted from offers coming in, because you are member of a lot of newsletters etc. May be the most difficult part in the beginning is to stay focused. On the other hand: online marketing is a wonderful experience and a never ending learning process. We always have to remember: The journey is the destination.
