I am Bill Gelwick, Social Media Strategist, writer, marketing specialist and one of two founding partners at http://MuchSocial.com

Social Media has become quite the Buzzword in recent years, but there is a reason for that. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are the new ABC, CBS and NBC.

Yes, I know everyone likes to focus on Social, but the other half of that is Media. These are still media channels, they just happen to support two way communication, which is the paradigm shift of our day.

Previously, Media meant being talked to. Now, it's a two way conversation. We have come to expect to be able to interact with a brand, and get response quickly. Studies show that Twitter users expect a response within 30 minutes when they engage a brand, especially with customer support issues.

Before, you could talk to the TV (You know you have done it), but it didn't' respond. @Reply to a tweet though, and you can get a response from someone in almost any company.

For business owners, this creates some challenges. How do you keep up with promotions on Social Media, managing customer service, generating quality content and still manage to actually operate your business?

That is where we come in. Through our free content at http://MuchSocial.com we provide information to help business owners of all types and sizes manage their Social Media activities.

We will soon be publishing several books on Kindle covering various aspects of doing business on Social Media as well as opening a self paced Social Media course, The MuchSocial Academy.

Stay Tuned for further updates. You will be glad you did. And please "LIKE" our page at the link below for more updates and daily curated content from the top minds in Social.

Let's BUST the Most Common MLM Myths

May 5th 2011 at 12:42 PM

Every day countless thousands of people turn to the Internet in search of help with their MLM Business. Sadly, there are many MLM Myths out there that cast a negative light on the industry as a whole. The lack of success is often no fault of the person seeking the information. The problem lies with the misinformation that is bombarding them from every angle. If you are reading this article, we can assume you are searching for Help building YOUR MLM Business yourself. If so, then keep reading below to learn why these MLM Myths could be standing between you and your dreams.

MLM Myths are a real issue on the Internet today. All you need to do to prove this point is do a Google search for MLM Scam. It can be difficult to sort through everything you come across because the volume will be immense. There are two types of items you will find doing this search: people who are targeting that keyword in an attempt to get the message across that MLM is NOT a Scam, and people who have had bad experiences in MLM and therefore believe that it is a scam.

Information Overload is another issue affecting many people looking for help with their MLM Business. Everyone is trying to optimize their pages to be found on Google. While this is a good strategy if you are marketing online, it can cause difficulty for the person searching for information. When searching for Help with MLM you will find all sorts of hype and empty promises. Much of what you find is some trying to sell the "Latest Guru Tactics" or some such nonsense. Most of these hyped pages are selling old, outdated material. If your upline is trying to sell you on other programs, or recruiting you into multiple affiliate programs, be skeptical. Many of these will either not ever make money, or sometimes are an outright scam. It takes practice to know the difference, but either way, it is likely not something you will want to bother with. Any serious Professional Network Marketer will not have time for such programs. MLM Myths are being promoted at every turn of the Internet world.

Predatory Marketers are responsible for keeping many people from realizing their dreams. These predators make "recommendations" of products or services simply to make money from your purchase. The person selling this product has often never used it. If they do use it, it is likely to be some sort of affiliate program that has little value, or makes little money, unless they recruit a LOT of people. You will then be expected to do the same if you hope to build a lasting business. Most of these programs either do not last or have such high attrition rates that you have to sponsor 100 or more people before you find one who will stick around long enough to accomplish anything.

So, if you have heard these MLM Myths and wondered if network marketing can work for you, do yourself a favor. Find a good mentor who is genuinely interested in YOU. You could spend the next couple of years learning these lessons, or you can leverage the experience of those who have come before you. I will be happy to work with you, no matter what primary business you are in, and get you plugged into a training system that will truly change how you look at network marketing.
