Learn LCD and Plasma TV Repair, Revive Your TV Repair Shop

Nov 20th 2012 at 8:24 PM

The introduction of flat screen TVs such as the LCD and plasma screens gave way to the true digital era in the home entertainment industry and preluded the inevitable decline of analog home entertainment systems. The cathode-ray tube (CRT) TV industry is on a steady decline and is probably seeing its last few gasps of air. The time of the flat screens has arrived and it spelled the doom of a technology that has dominated home entertainment for many decades.

One expected consequence of these developments is already being observed in industries and businesses that involved services on the older CRT TVs. Servicing shops that have thrived in the decades-long domination of CRT-based TVs are seeing dramatic declines in earnings. Some are even being forced out of business all because the demand for their services have dropped significantly.

Although the LCD and plasma TV screen segments of the television market are by no means new, the improvements in its technology in general and the huge drops in costs and prices have made it the preferred television display of an increasing number of homes. The past couple of years have seen an explosion in the demand for these TVs and forecasts are seeing more positive growth.

Cheap LCD and plasma TVs are available wherever they are selling home appliances. One can get a 32-inch LG 32LM6200 LCD TV these days for a measly $400 to $500! Maybe even less if you looked harder. This is pretty amazing considering they were priced double or triple that just around 2 to 3 years ago!

What does this imply for the electronics and TV repair servicing shops?

Basically, this just means that they have a good chance of surviving the decline in CRT or projection TV repair demand by simply adding newer electronics and televisions in the scope of their services. Shops that adapt quickly and acquire plasma and LCD TV repair skills will instantly add a new income stream for their business. The healthy demand for flat screen TVs will ensure the survival of your electronics repair business.

The uptrend in the growth of the flat screen TV segment of the industry seems destined to continue. Your repair service business will not die just yet especially if you adapt to the times. If you are afraid that you can no longer compete in the high-tech arena, think again. A TV is still a TV after all and the general principles should remain the same.

Any old school repair person can now learn how to repair the newer flat screen LCDs and plasmas through online means. Plasma and LCD TV repair courses are available through online TV repair schools that anyone at any skill level can go into to learn.

The only thing anyone needs to begin their TV repair education online is an internet-connected computer, some repair tools, some motivation and dedication and you're on your way to reviving your ailing electronics or TV repair shop.
