It’s The Place You Are Looking For; Goa

Aug 10th 2012 at 12:25 AM

In words of a poet who once described Goa says that the shape of Goa is actually of a heart but when we see it only the half part is visible and the other half of the heart is embedded in every Goan. Yes truly Goa is a state with a heart; a heart for fun, life and beauty. Located along the Western Ghats this piece of land is famous for its beaches. The beaches see the foreigners lying back on the white sand and enjoying the full tan of the sun with the Arabian waters roaring in the scene. The excellent lifestyle of Goa is totally different from the rest of the India and it seems that a mini Europe is attached to India. The state has about 101kms of coastline and a long list of beaches along this coastline. You will see romantic honeymooning couples walking hand in hand bare footed leaving their marks on the sands waiting for the waves to carry away these footprints. The beaches have a uniqueness compared to the other beaches in India; these beaches are filled with excellent nightlife.

The beaches here are the finest ones and they are crowded year round due to goa’s favorable climate that doesn’t need to coincide with your holidays. You can drop to Goa at any time of the year and you will still find Goa bustling with foreign and domestic tourists enjoying the Goa holidays. Actually to be more precise not all the Goan beaches are filled with night parties. The northern beaches are the hippie destinations and these are the ones that make noise around the night. The southern beaches offer solitude to the visitors and are studded with beautiful resorts that get packed with honeymoon couples that love some privacy with their loved ones. With the view of the sea waters by the windows the resorts pour in the perfect romantic mood.

Some of the most talked about beaches of Goa are the as under;

The Anjuna beach which is located about 41km westward of Mapusa district is a beach where you find the hippies partying along the coastline on full moon nights. These parties have become a trademark of this beach and a crowd gatherer. The visitors never miss out the Wednesday flea markets that give them a chance to take a part of Goa back home with the varied gems, Goan tees, filled in the ever growing small shops that are more than 500 in numbers. Here you will find variety but hone your bargaining skills before entering these flea markets. The beach is lined with a good number of bars and hotels that serve excellent seafood for your healthy appetite. The other beaches that you can try out are the Baga beach where you can find water sports, the Calangute beach, Dona Paula beach and the list still remains incomplete for your Package tours.

Old Goa is your next destination which is filled with old churches and cathedrals. In fact these are amongst the largest ones in Asia. Some of them are changed into archeological museums.

The wildlife sanctuaries are filling about 20% of the state so it also is a spot for you to check out.

There is much more to explore for the fun lovers here in Goa. If you love fun then Goa is the name.
