A little sizzle in your website design can be good, but don’t overwhelm your readers with fancy tricks. When a person visits your site, you have less than five seconds of time to grab their attention, before they decide to leave and check out another site. If they can’t do it on your site, (or it’s too hard to do) they’ll do it elsewhere. Answer all questions from customers accurately and in a timely manner.



Do not overuse AJAX or Flash. Don’t overload your site with Flash animations that annoy customers. If possible, try not to use them at all. If you must use Flash, use them sparingly and add keywords and navigation links on the pages with Flash.



Try being as content-oriented and as comprehensive as possible when making your website. Your goal should be to teach your potential customers exactly what you are selling so they understand what and why they should want to purchase your product. Don’t include useless information, and avoid repetition.



Your emails are essential for your Affiliate marketing plan. You must take steps to protect them! For instance, try to avoid those services out there offering you mail for free. There’s always something buggy about those particular services that will bite you in the end, such as deleting old messages. Try making a email archiving arrangement.



The formatting of your website’s text plays an important role in its attractiveness and success. Aim to emphasize important words by bolding, underlining, or italicizing them. This can help you determine how you wish your customers to receive a specific type of message. This also makes the message more clear.



If you have written a sound plan for marketing online, then you probably have some idea which of your products and services are the most profitable ones. These should be your mainstays in drawing future sales. If you carry complimentary products advertise them as such to make an additional sale. You may even offer a discount for buying the two products together. Advertising related products together doesn’t require as much overhead, and because the products are related, they naturally sell together.



One way to build a reputation as a credible business is by selling advertising spaces on your page to other vetted businesses in your market. When visitors see big names next to your own, they tend to make associations and will transfer trust between names. This will drive customers to your site and they will think of it as more than just a store.



You do not have to take up all your time by Web marketing. If you use your time wisely, you will be successful.
