This can happen to you, but lets hope not…I wrote on Debt management on my last Post and thought I would continue with that theme.

I worked under a Builder who was Bankrupt!!!!

How was he still building? you ask? Well he had his accountant running his business under his instructions….

I told him “no pay on Friday, Sat, Sun… I don’t come on Monday”

Thats how I worked it, you just cannot trust people like that to pay you!

He handled his debt by going for bankruptcy but still had a Business running under the radar of rules etc of being a bankrupt person.
One of the things that happened while I worked for him was a Blocklayer came around to see my boss, he said “when are you going to pay me?”. My boss (the bankrupt) said “you havn’t done a good job, its faulty workmanship, I’m not paying you!”.
I looked over (I was building a fence) at the house which was sitting on this guys blockwork, the house was for sale already so how could the blockwork be faulty to any great degree I thought.
This was a pattern that cropped up time and time again, any excuse is used not to pay!…. another pattern in this country (New Zealand) is rack up huge debt with a local supplier and then start another company while the suppliers try to get their money out of the first company. Of course the first company goes broke fast, assets get sold and then somebody from the original company try to buy their own assets back at a cut price!!! Sound crazy, under hand, wrong, its happens….

I wrote the above because it happened to me and I thought it would interest others...Taken from my iblog from VN Viral Networks

That happened quite a few years ago, but it was out of the norm, that is why I wrote about it...In that same period I worked for a developer in interesting circumstances..thanks for your comment
