Of all that I do and all that I have tried throughout the years I find that I really enjoy anything Creative. From drawing & writing to web design & product creation - I just love to create. I have been online for so many years and have seen so many changes; it’s really a joy to be involved in projects that can change the world & what we do every day, in so many ways.

Somehow, I have a feeling that there are certain places we need to be in order to position ourselves for \\\'the next big thing\\\' and I am working hard to be in the very middle of it all.

As a professional writer I have had the joy of writing for some great people and great outlets both online & off. It brings me great joy to read comments from readers whether good or bad, its great to get responses to your work.

The Examiner is my favorite place, aside from IM Faceplate of course, and my page can be found at http://www.examiner.com/online-marketing-in-long-island/liz-calamusa - I hope you will visit my articles, they are 100% original and are not the same as the ones posted here.

If you would like to use my articles on your sites, please just contact me directly, there is no cost - just a link somewhere.

I am also available for product creation and product/site reviews. Please send me an email or contact me here if you would like me to create something for your site(s).

Article marketing, search engines, optimization, even guaranteed visitors, none of this is going to help you make a living if you are always 2 steps behind the money makers, join various networks and leverage yourself with a community of professionals who DO know what they are doing and will be happy to help you along the way. Stay away from anyone who tells you it’s right now or never! Fact is, if you approach those same people tomorrow with cash in hand, 9 out of 10 will NOT turn you away. Think about what you join and where you spend your valuable time.

Finally, I am always happy to help fellow community members, so if you are in need of articles, help with your blog or someone to maintain for you, just contact me. There are many ways that I can help and absolutely will!

Honesty and Todays Market (UPDATED)

Aug 11th 2010 at 1:11 PM

Having always worked hard I began my career in Retail Management while going to school online at all hours of the night. I had a great drive to succeed and was doing well, however I have been dealing with illness since I was a child. I have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and at 35 yo I have now become totally disabled, it stalled my well deserved HR Career. After graduating college I really thought HR was my greatest achievement, but my body had other plans.

Now I work each and every day online in an attempt to build something that would actually help my family. Every day I work hard to promote good products and things that I honestly believe in. If a product or company is questionable then I stop all affiliations with them no matter how much commission is possible. Of course, with this attitude I will never be rich, but at least I can sleep at night.

There are way too many people claiming to have THE answer, only to give you a pile of information and no further guidance on how to accomplish anything, how to really get started, and certainly no answers when you ask questions. These same people are falling all over themselves to help you before you pay, before you commit, before you give in. Once you have done so, you are no longer a priority and they move on to convincing the next frustrated soul that comes by. It sort of reminds me of Hansel & Gretel.

The witch in Hansel & Gretal convinces the kids that she will feed them, give them candy, and everyone will have fun. Once those kids are inside, all bets are off and she shows her true colors. And so the cycle continues. That is what these people and companies do. I would love to post a list of the bad guys I personally have encountered and unfortunately lost what little I had, but I am afraid they will try to get back at me. Not that I care what anyone thinks of me as long as I am telling the truth, but I have a child to think of.

If you come across one of these opportunities, please do not go forward! If you are told you have to join right now or you wont get this or that, run! This is a big red flag! This is a rush tactic - they are appealing to the part of your brain that likes to chase the shiny object and once you step back and think - they expect you will change your mind, so that means to me that they have no faith in their own product.

Instead I believe my customers should think about their purchase and come back to me in a few hours or even the following day. I do not fear losing the sale to another affiliate because my customers can trust me and believe I will be there both before AND after the purchase, this is not something that you can expect from everyone. That trust is enough for me, I know I sleep with a clear conscious and soul because I do not cheat or lie to anyone in order to sell anything.

Please do not think that I am saying everyone out there is dishonest, I do not believe that at all. Unfortunately, Many start off wanting to do the right thing, but after getting cheated over and over, after hearing so many lies and getting no where fast, it is hard to remain as you began, with pure intentions. You are basically taught that the only way to sell is to lie cheat and say whatever sells. I will and always have been truthful and trustworthy.

Can your current sales rep say that?

Join my list by sending an email to newsletters@lizcalamusawrites.com or joining me on any otf the Social Networks (especially Twitter where my ID is @calamusa217) and find out how an honest person does online business.

If you are considering any opportunities or have some questions, feel free to contact me. If I have checked them out already (I have tried hundreds of programs so far) I can give you my honest opinion and experiences, and if I havent worked with them yet - I will investigate it for you!! No charge, no requirements nothing expected in return :) I just want to help people find their way and in the process make some friends, and maybe find the answer to my own search :)

So please start sending questions and I will build a small database of honest reviews/information to help you make your decisions. PLEASE don't sign up for any monthly or one time fees until you have researched and thought about it clearly. Let me help you along! And by the way, just because you see a logo from BBB or similar, this means nothing these days so you should still step back. Are they really going to turn you away if you come back tomorrow with cash in hand? Probably not :)

Here's to your success and future :)

Honesty in online marketing seems to be rare these days. Hype lures in unsuspecting people and makes it harder for honest marketers online.

Hi Liz, the title of your article reminded me of this : http://www.honestselling.org/ They have a book that is free to read if you read it online, or you can pay to get a copy.

Excellent article. I feel the same way. This is why it has taken me a little over a year to put my internet marketing business together. I wanted to take my time and build a business that supports my core values. I'm not looking to make a quick buck but instead build valuable long lasting relationships. This is where my mantra comes from, "Building Wealth One Friend at a Time".
