Google's Gift to Internet Marketers

Feb 28th 2011 at 4:25 PM

Let me ask a simple question...

Would You Have Bought Google Stock...

… when it was first issued?  If you only knew how large and powerful this company was to become, you bet!  I would have! Well, as long as we had a few bucks back then.

If you are an affiliate or Internet marketer, you are looking at a similar opportunity right now!

You see, in October 2010… just a few short month ago, Google changed the way it displays it's search results.  And, they did it in favor of local businesses.

Do you know how competitive it is to get on the first page of Google?  You can pay $2-10 per click in a Google Adwords campaign in their Sponsored search.  Or, you can learn sophisticated Search Engine Optimization techniques to get ranked on the first page in their Organic Search.

As of October 2010, you don't have to!  Not if you claim your business listing in Google Places. Did you know that only 3 percent of small businesses have claimed their listing?  Do you consider yourself a business?

And, here is Google's Gift!  Internet marketers are going into their local markets and earning between $300-$500 just to set up a Place page for local businesses!

It's really quite simple when you think about it.  Google is dedicated to making their  user's experience (you, me, your Aunt Betty, etc.) as valuable as possible.  And, they have done their research.  They know the 50 percent of searches today are for local goods and services. Try doing a search on your smart phone!  See if you get local results!  If you don't have a smart phone, check with your kids! lol

If someone is looking for an electrician, they don't want to find an electrician who works 500 hundred miles away.  This is not a good experience for their users.
