Of all that I do and all that I have tried throughout the years I find that I really enjoy anything Creative. From drawing & writing to web design & product creation - I just love to create. I have been online for so many years and have seen so many changes; it’s really a joy to be involved in projects that can change the world & what we do every day, in so many ways.

Somehow, I have a feeling that there are certain places we need to be in order to position ourselves for \\\'the next big thing\\\' and I am working hard to be in the very middle of it all.

As a professional writer I have had the joy of writing for some great people and great outlets both online & off. It brings me great joy to read comments from readers whether good or bad, its great to get responses to your work.

The Examiner is my favorite place, aside from IM Faceplate of course, and my page can be found at http://www.examiner.com/online-marketing-in-long-island/liz-calamusa - I hope you will visit my articles, they are 100% original and are not the same as the ones posted here.

If you would like to use my articles on your sites, please just contact me directly, there is no cost - just a link somewhere.

I am also available for product creation and product/site reviews. Please send me an email or contact me here if you would like me to create something for your site(s).

Article marketing, search engines, optimization, even guaranteed visitors, none of this is going to help you make a living if you are always 2 steps behind the money makers, join various networks and leverage yourself with a community of professionals who DO know what they are doing and will be happy to help you along the way. Stay away from anyone who tells you it’s right now or never! Fact is, if you approach those same people tomorrow with cash in hand, 9 out of 10 will NOT turn you away. Think about what you join and where you spend your valuable time.

Finally, I am always happy to help fellow community members, so if you are in need of articles, help with your blog or someone to maintain for you, just contact me. There are many ways that I can help and absolutely will!

Finding time to write or do key tasks when life is hectic

Oct 14th 2011 at 7:35 PM

Are you tired of hearing 'Content is King'? Of course you are! The fact is that we all know this. Content makes your website fresh, brings it life, and makes it a destination for many people, with hopes for even more as you grow. Unfortunately, trying to find the time to write can be incredibly hard. The amount of new content you would need to create in order to truly drive traffic, is just impossible to keep up with when you just can't find 8 hours to just sit and write, every single day.

But wait - STOP - Isn't this your job? Think about this for a moment. When you were at your 9 - 5 j-o-b, did you have the distractions you have now? No, you didn't, and there lies the problem. Working in an office is a really bad thing for a lot of people, myself included, however doing so gave us the structure we needed each day and forced us to accomplish the tasks needed to run a successful business. Being at home and running your business should be no different.

You must force yourself to stick to a steady regimen, despite the wish to do as you want, and just handle things later. The problem with this thinking is that for most people later never comes and as each day passes, they find themselves further and further behind. Eventually they find themselves so far behind that they fear there is no way to fix it, they give up or just fail.

So what can you do to make this situation work for you?

What can you do to make 'working at home' really work?

How can you achieve something that so many have failed at before you?

By forcing yourself to just do it! Yes, I do realize that sounds easier that it is. I do it everyday and am queen of procrastination. Finally, I came to the decision that if I ever intended to succeed in this business I absolutely must find a way to streamline things and become a master of my own domain (pun absolutely intended.)

At first it will be very difficult to stick to any kind of schedule. Children have needs, things get in the way, the phone will ring, and your family will throw you curve balls every chance they can. You must be ready for anything and if you stay ahead, the things that try to throw you will not matter.

You can be ahead and you can live your life with the freedom you thought of when you decided to go this route. In order to do so, you must get ahead of yourself, become organized, and push yourself beyond the basics.

The simple plan - Make yourself a list of what needs to be done - be honest and think quickly. Make a list of all the possible distractions - once again be honest and think quickly, listing real life attention killers.

Make a plan to deal with each situation using just a simple description. Now if any of those pesky things come up you wont get upset because you'll always respond with a cool head.

If you have Excel use it to create a schedule outlining everything that you need to accomplish to run your business and break it up into your five (or seven to start) day work-week so that you have a reasonable block of time to accomplish each thing. Of course, if you don't have Excel, don't despair, you can download the open-source version of Word and Excel online. The open source program will do the same job and you can stay organized much easier with this method once you have it all fine tuned.

One thing I use to save a lot of time is an automatic submission program for all of my article marketing projects. This will save hours of time just in locating each website and password. I really recommend using the same name and password for each account, yes I know that goes against all of the rules, but I simply cannot keep track of over 300 sites and passwords.

Second problem with different everything is that when you use so many it becomes impossible to function without a program like Roboform and that is not cheap when you are just starting out. Everything I keep on those sites is already posted all over the net anyway so figuring any of it out would simply be a waste of time for anyone.

Next, set up a separate email address just for your writing projects. Go to Google.com and set up a gmail account with a catchy name. Keep track of this information and use this email address only for your writing projects and submission sites.

Lastly and most importantly, make a written pledge (a realistic deal) with yourself and sign it, then have it notarized. Even if you think it is silly at the time, do not skip this key step - it is really important that you make yourself accountable for your own actions and just run a real business. If you cannot take yourself seriously, how can anyone else. This is your contract to succeed and it will keep you on track if used as a powerful tool, skipping it will only lead down the same old path. Lets face it, if everyone who thought they had the answer - ie. the key - actually had the answer then there would be a lot more millionaires and a lot fewer scam artists out there.

Please note, I do not claim to be able to change your life with my methods, this is simply how I have streamlined day to day functions and how I finally found time for my family too. By following this simple strategy you may find yourself much calmer, happier, prepared for anything, and successful.

As the old adage goes 'Fail to plan, plan to fail!'
