Aug 13th 2015 at 1:46 AM

Most of us visualize snowcapped terrain and subzero temperatures when we talk about Iceland. Though this may be partly true, there lies much more in this island country to see and feel which can out rightly blow our perceptions. The landscape and serenity offered here is unmatched and makes one to bow down to the Mother Nature for this heavenly beauty. The country is situated in the North Atlantic Ocean close to the North Pole but despite its location, it is far from being hostile and even the winters are miraculously gentle. The native language is Icelandic but almost all the people speak in fluent English which makes them a great host to tourists coming from all over the globe.

The country offers us a plethora of beautiful sights and natural formations. With a booming tourism, there are now more than enough options to hop on to one of the Iceland day tours. Such tours usually start from the capital city of Reykjavik and take you around in coaches or cabs as per the individual demands. These daily trips in Iceland are one of the most convenient way of moving around and see all the picturesque places. They take you all around right from ice capped volcanoes to the lava field walks while visiting enormous waterfalls, moving around the astounding glaciers and banging geysers. For the people looking for an adrenalin rush, the fun begins when they take up the Iceland adventure tour. This tour often done in a Superjeep which is a modified 4x4 off roader, takes you to all the roads not travelable. This is complimented by a boat ride between the floating icebergs. A guided hiking on the Reynisfjall Mountain in the Southern Iceland is one of the most memorable coastline walks. Whales, Icelandic horses, ptarmigans and puffins are some of the numerous natural national treasures here.

The best time to visit Iceland is during its summer months from June to August. These months have the natural gift of over 20 hours of sunlight and provide perfect climate condition for touring. Reykjavik also holds its cultural festival during this time which is another event not to miss. With its proximity to the North Pole, the country offers you a chance to experience “Northern lights” or “Aurora Borealis. Imagine yourself under the bright and colorful lights in the sky on a cold and dark night; I am sure you do not want to come out of this imagination.

So do not wait for long, start planning for a trip which will leave you spellbound and provide lifetime memories.
