Which characteristics more common in people with Down syndrome? Individuals with Down syndrome have certain typical traits, such as hair smooth and thin, with eyes up line and skin folds at the inner corners (similar to Eastern) small nose and a little "flat", round face, small ears, short stature, short, thick neck, muscle flaccidity, small hands with short fingers, single palmer crease.
Based on these characteristics is that the doctor hypothesizes that baby has Down Syndrome, and asks the examination of the cerotype (chromosome study) that confirms whether or not the syndrome.
A child with Down syndrome is developing slower than other children.
This cannot be determined at birth Need a job stimulation from birth in order to develop their full potential.
Down syndrome
A developmental delay of motor functions of the body and mental functions, the baby is active and bit squishy what is called hypotonic. Hypotonic diminishes with time, winning, baby, slower than the other, the various stages of development.
Down syndrome was also known as mongolism, given the folds in the corner of eyes that remind people of Mongolian race (yellow) . This expression is not used currently.
Causes
Within each cell of our body, the chromosomes are responsible for eye color, height, sex, and also throughout the operation and shape of each internal organ of the body such as the heart, stomach, brain, etc..
Each of the cells has 46 chromosomes, which are equal in pairs, i.e. pairs and there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in each cell.
