Cats & Dogs, Living Together....

Jul 4th 2011 at 11:18 PM

No, it's not the beginning of The End!  Although I was beginning to think that whack job would successfully predict the end of the world before I ever published anything online!

But, I digress (squirrel!).  My point is that we all have plans for what we really want to do, and then life gets in the way.  In the words of Gilda Radner--it's always something!

I've been making progress in all other areas of my business, but in this one critical area, I have been stubbornly holding out for my "ultimate" solution, so I don't have to do things over.  I was forgetting that efficiency is less important than branding.  I blame it on severe sleep deprivation over the last six months--being a walking zombie does not make for good decisions.  Now that I have rededicated myself to taking better care of myself, I am getting clarity.

I see now that while I may not have a lot of time to spend on my business, my quest to be efficient has been counter-productive.  I intended to get a blog up and running over 5 months ago.  My advertising is branded, but that doesn't really let people know who I am or why they should care that I am endorsing anything.  For an Internet Marketer to not get her story out there so that people can get to know, like, and trust her...well there's a word for that.

That word is stupid.  My actions are a classic example of the perfect being the enemy of the "good enough."  There are a myriad of alternatives to getting started in Internet Marketing--you do the best you can with what you have & then you improve from there.   You don't have to be perfect.  Who would want to be around a perfect person anyhow?  How annoying would that be?

So, instead of continuing my cycle of "There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza," I'm getting started here and now with what I have.  It isn't perfect and doesn't fit my vision of what I want, but it's better than the big bunch of nothing I've had.

I make you no promises that I will have anything brilliant to say, but today is July 4th, and I am declaring my independence from the shackles of perfectionism and embracing the "good enough."  I close with some questions to you--

1) What have you been putting off because you don't have EVERYTHING set up yet?  Can you get started with what you have?  No?  REALLY?

2) Could you be stupid like me and actually need to do LESS in order to get something "big" done?  If you are exhausted, you will not be doing your best thinking.

Happy Independence Day to me and to you!  I'm going to bed.  Surfing will just have to wait.  I have new ads to make for my downline tomorrow.
