Biz01 - Business Basics
This article is a work in progress for those of you who :
- like my 'Face'
- want to know how I applied 'make-up' to it
- want to learn more about my way of doing "business"
I have begun this article by adding the basics of what I want to say and the order I want to see it in.
For now its boring black and white but it will be colorful as I create the mini tutorial for how to do each change and an autoresponder series so you can signup and learn "How-To" do this too.
You won't get to see the code here!
I'm creating a lesson series on HTML and CSS for web page building and this article will form just one part of the mini tutorial.
My spotlights in more detail...Color Codes
These are the color codes I use when writing notes about ideas I have for my business.
I have to use a red pen instead of orange but make sure I use ACTION words and capitalize them.
They make it easier for me to quickly find what each bit means and what I need to do so this part of the plan moves forward.
Step 1 - Rules I Follow

Step 2 - Questions To Ask

Step 3 - Branding Yourself
Branding yourself is about getting your Face, Name and what your Business does linked together in your visitor's mind. Why?
People choose to do business with people they feel they know.
How Do I Brand Myself?
I use the same photo as I am using here at IMFP on nearly every splash page I create.
On every page that I have created...
...my Name forms a part of the footer with a link to my blog. As you can see even the title of this article has my first name in it.What my business does... is contained in the slogan, which is also called a USP. (will add what that means as soon as I find it, can't remember right now - Unique Selling Point? perhaps)
I include the slogan after my name in every email I send or post I make.
Want to know what it is? Take a look over there to the left of this article in my Interests.
That statement in blue is one that I have used and practiced in my daily business for 7 years as of the 29th July 2010Has this worked For Me?
You betcha it has. Today is my 30th day since I joined IMFP and I have 225 followers and 6 referrals.
And... it's my first ever time doing ANY of this kind of social networking!
Some are people I already knew (from advertising programs we are mutual members of) and actively sought contact with here - most of those followers, however - are new friends!
Now I've gone and bought myself a domain name to point straight here to my face...
www.soroyas.net
Will be interesting to see what happens now.
I did a few searches on my name like this "Soroya Ravencrest" so that I only saw things that were relevant to me.
Other Resources I have found...
I just found this from reading a fellow IMFPer's post and doing a little investigating of the source of his quote :

Aug 21st 2010 at 3:28 PM by yhbecpublisher Thank you Ellen, big hugs too. I had noticed and have left a comment on your face. I thought it would be great to share it as I am still learning about social interaction myself.
The only thing I don't agree with is within "Be Consistent" - stick with business messages only. I think this narrows our vision, effectively putting blinders on us to see only a very small portion of who anyone is. So I will be evolving my own set of social do's and dont's as I learn! :-D |

Aug 21st 2010 at 3:17 PM by aislesoffiles A great article Soroya...I especially liked The Steel Method "Do's and Don'ts" chart. I posted the chart on my faceplate as well, and provided a link to your article in my shout box.

While the main purpose of my membership here is to use my faceplate as a portal to brand myself... I have also decided to respond to the help requests I have received here and create my 'Face Place' as a place that will guide those of you getting started in business or wishing to best use IMFP to brand yourself! Your questions will help me to develop this into a great reference source for the world of internet marketing. |
