Are There Free Rehab Centers or Programs in Arizona?

Dec 4th 2019 at 6:21 AM

If you’re struggling with alcohol addiction, you’re not alone. About 14.1 million adults in the U.S. aged 18 and above had alcohol use disorder, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism states. Severe alcohol addiction is one of the biggest health crises of the government, with about six people dying from alcohol poisoning every day, the Centers for Disease Control reports.

Free Treatment

There are plenty of treatment options that you can check out, though. The Springboard, for instance, is a free treatment program that lasts for six days and is held to help people aged 18 years and older to deal with alcohol, drugs, and co-occurring mental problems. The program happens three days a week. If you need help, this is a good place to help you get your bearings and learn more about your treatment options.

Rehab Programs

There are other alcohol treatment centers in the area. While these may not be paid, they provide you with long-term options. They’re also more equipped with the right technology, team, and expertise to provide medically-assisted detox along with inpatient treatment care. If you want to sign up for those services, you’ll need to research your options to help you figure out which ones fit your budget and needs.

Detox

You need to undergo detox before you can start on the recovery program. The process involves the removal of the substance from your system and is followed by the appearance of withdrawal symptoms. The symptoms make for an unpleasant and distressing experience. That’s why medical supervision and assistance during the process is recommended, as medical staff can administer drugs to ease the severity of the symptoms. In some cases, though, the symptoms worsen and develop into a life-threatening condition. Undergoing medically-supervised detox prevents that from happening, as you’ll have trained staff to monitor your condition and step in.

Care Plan

Using a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment isn’t going to yield the best results. That’s why trusted rehab facilities provide a care plan that’s suited to your needs. Only when the care plan factors in your unique situation will it improve your progress and recovery.

Therapy and Counseling

After detox, you start therapy and counseling, both through groups and through one-on-one sessions. The goal of the treatment is to:

  • Determine existing and potential triggers. Inpatient treatment programs temporarily remove you from your environment and eliminate triggers. However, you can’t avoid them forever. Knowing what the triggers are will help you deal with them in the future.

  • Pinpoint the cause of the addiction. Your care plan needs to incorporate this knowledge to ensure that your treatment will address whatever issues you have.

  • Develop healthier habits. These habits will form a solid foundation to help you with your recovery.

  • Teach techniques on how to manage your addiction. These strategies will help you avoid reaching for the bottle whenever you encounter a difficult situation.

Aftercare

When you look for a facility, you’ll need to consider how strong and active its aftercare program is. That’s because the treatment doesn’t end when the program is complete. Addiction recovery is a long-term process. For some, that commitment lasts a lifetime. Keeping to that resolve and commitment, though, isn’t easy. That’s why there’s a high number of relapses. With aftercare support, though, you have a better chance of living a life free of addiction.
