Acute bronchitis starts usually with a general discomfort

Dec 5th 2013 at 3:11 AM

It is difficult to distinguish these two diseases. Both can be caused by viruses, bacteria or both at the same time and there may be a gradual transition

from one disease to another. Symptoms
In both diseases can be fever, coughing and possibly breathing difficulties.
With bronchitis, the patient rarely gets very sick and breathing is not particularly affected. With pneumonia, the patient gets sicker, the fever is higher

and breathing is affected.
Acute bronchitis starts usually with a general discomfort, headaches, watery nose and throat irritation. Later a dry cough, hoarseness and pain behind the

sternum appear.
The fever goes up to 38 º C. A dry cough is accompanied by sticky sputum, which later becomes more watery.
If the fever rises, breathing becomes more difficult and the general condition is affected. Probably the disease spread to the lung tissue.
Pneumonia begins the same way as bronchitis, often with symptoms of constipation.
After a few days, occur suddenly chills and fever rises to 40 º C. There is often pain in the affected side of the chest, because the "inflamed membrane"

lung rubs against each other. The pain is so aggravated with deep breaths.
There is a violent cough with expectoration, which is often brown or mixed with blood. The breathing is very rapid and shallow, partly because of the fever,

but above all because of the infection in "lung tissue". The breathing rate of 15 per minute thus increases to about 40 per minute. The lips may become

bluish due to lack of oxygen.
