A couple little bug fixes, plus what's still to come

Mar 24th 2011 at 1:33 PM

You will be pleased to know that this update is a lot shorter than our last one :)

If you read our previous news update (from Tuesday), then you know we made some changes recently to the layout and menu as well as added some new stuff.  If you haven't yet poked around your account to see the new changes, you really need to take a look!

You can get all the important details regarding the changes by viewing our previous news update HERE (opens in new window/tab)

We have also put up a quick walkthrough video to highlight the changes and additions ...

You can access the video HERE (opens in new window/tab)

We would like to take a quick moment to really thank all the members that have been providing feedback on the changes.  Please keep the comments coming!

One of the areas we spent considerable time on was the news feed that you can now find on the right side of your new HOME page when you login.  This news feed is now a lot more functional and gives you access to more updates in a more organized and concise manner.

The only problem was that for several members, there was a strange bug that only allowed them to see 3 items!

Well, the good news is that this bug is now fixed and so all affected members will now see their entire feed properly :)

There was also an issue when trying to SHARE a new image using the Publish and Share module, and we are happy to report that this is now working properly as well.

If you would like to provide some feedback on the changes, or if you have some questions, you can check out the new discussion HERE (opens in new window/tab)

So, what's still to come?

Well, you will be happy to know that nothing major is going to happen with the menus or the layout ... so you won't have to relearn everything in a few days :)

But we do have some nice features to add as we continue to integrate the members of IMfaceplate and their content more into the site.

What this means is that you can expect some improvements on the various sections of the site as we continue to move forward.  In particular, the groups and discussions, along with the articles section will be getting a bit of a facelift to make all that great content more accessible.

We will also be adding the ability for members to bookmark things within IMfaceplate.  This will allow you to keep a list of your FAVOURITE things, making it easier to come back to them at a later date.

Plus, there are numerous other little tweaks and additions that will just suddenly appear one day ... hopefully triggering a "hey, that's cool!" ... so keep an eye out.

Have a great day!

Being able to bookmark things within the site will be a HUGE help. There have been several times that I had a hard time finding a certain item again when I tried to go back to it later. Things are coming along nicely!
