I'd recommend you always always ask before doing such actions, because there are people who diligently protect their content and are very willing to sue for theft of copyrighted material. The legal fines can be HUGE in such cases.

Kristina: you know honestly I haven't explored how to put banners on your faceplate, but I believe it is when you create spotlights you can do it.
There's no commissions (from what I know) for promoting IM faceplate whether you're upgraded or free. The real value of promoting is being able to brand yourself, gain influence, and meet new contacts.
For example, I personally referred about 80-90 here so far, but I have 272 followers. Many are likely people that have never heard of me before, but discovered me here.
Just one trustworthy contact can completely change your business overnight, so meeting people is always incredibly important. I owe a lot of my success to just a small group of people that I met through networking online. You can read more about my story if you like at:

And you can find banners for IM Faceplate by going to "My Account", and then finding the "Links and Tools" section on the left side menu.

I agree IM Faceplate is great, and most importantly I feel Logiscape actually has the resources to maintain the quality of it.
Articles are great way to get additional exposure and followers if you are knowledgeable in a topic. If not, just participate is some discussions, introduce yourself to people, and follow others.
Your following will grow with time =)
