Whether you’ve been involved in online marketing for years, or mere months, you undoubtedly know the importance of using squeeze pages (aka splash pages) to build your list. In fact, that’s basically the sole purpose of using squeeze pages. Now more than likely you’re already using one in your marketing efforts. But what if it’s not performing the way you want it to? What are some things you can do to rev up its effectiveness?

One thing to keep in mind is that the people viewing your squeeze page(s) have been around. They’ve seen a good many squeeze pages competing for their attention. So that means your page(s) must stand out as different. Prospective subscribers to your list have to see immediate value in your offer, otherwise they’ll quickly move on. In order to create effect squeeze pages there are three fundamental things to keep in mind.

A unique squeeze page is going to stand out as different. This is because you create it rather than using a corporate sponsored squeeze page. You’ve seen those ready-to-promote squeeze pages. The fact of the matter is they all look the same. If you choose to use one, you won’t stand out as different from the rest. So promoting your product, service, or opportunity using a page like that will likely net you very poor results.

Now there is a flip side to this. Your unique squeeze page can be used to click over to a corporate page. But even at that you’re better off to capture email addresses and build a relationship with people through email marketing prior to offering them to join you in your venture. But whatever you decide to do in that regard, make sure to create a unique squeeze page.

Brand Yourself

One aspect of creating a unique squeeze page usually involves putting your picture on it. While that helps to make your squeeze page unique, it also brands you as an expert. You may not think of yourself as an expert, but anyone seeing your squeeze page may view you that way. Why? Well, think about it. How many squeeze pages have you seen that are truly unique with a person’s picture on it? That’s the point. You don’t see that many. So embrace uniqueness, and brand yourself as an expert at the same time.

‘Why Should I Join Your List?’

That’s the question anyone viewing your squeeze page is going to ask him or herself. Of course, it also applies to products or a business venture. So what you have to do is quickly show them the benefits of doing business with you. They’re interested in one thing and one thing only, namely, “What’s in it for me?” If your benefits aren’t compelling enough, you’ll quickly lose them. You must provide an engaging list of benefits. And the benefits must stand out, perhaps being lined up in bullet points. This will move a person to sign up to your opt-in list, thus desiring more information from you. At this point you can begin to build a relationship with that person.

As you can see, creating a unique squeeze page takes effort, but it’s well worth it. Doing so will put you light years ahead of most marketers, because they refuse to put forth the effort to be unique. Unlike them, you’ll stand out as different from the rest, and will brand yourself as an expert in your niche.
