A high power LED down light should be greater than 1Watt. Generally these gizmos consume 350 mA & possess luminous efficiency of 115lm/W. They generate light & they could be consumed at any location. Their high effectiveness is the result of the technology onto which they are based.

One complication for these LEDs could be the temperature & all requirements are habitually pledged at 25 degrees centigrade. The operation/storage temperature could habitually differ from -40 to +85 °C but temperatures approaching these boundaries are not recommended.
