Sep 22nd 2015 at 3:45 AM

Parquet floors are commonly used and installed by many home owners, in and around the houses in United Kingdom. These parquet wood floorings are quite popular too all over the world; as it has various features and great benefits. However, many people always show inquisitiveness about exactly how the flooring is installed at homes and also at offices.

So, today, in order to give them the extra knowledge, we are going to talk about how the proper installation of the parquet floor is done. So, this can also be beneficial for people whose houses are going to be installed with this type of flooring.  That is because they can cross check this list and check out whether their contractors are doing the job correctly or not. So, here we go;

Marking the space—

Parquet floors are basically square or rectangle in nature. Hence if you have a floor space to cover with it, then you must first mark up the space. Use mathematics to make sure you have enough—and exact number of floorings and few extra—floors for your use. Also, remember to mark the center of the floor, so that your panels can easily be put down.

Lay down the floors:

When you want to put in your parquet floors, make sure you start from the center. And also, make sure your contractor adheres by all the lines. Put the panels as per the lines and cut them up only at the final and end places if the last panel is longer or wider than the actual space. Plus, do not put in any adhesive at this moment!

Now the sticky part:

When the lining up part is done correctly, it will be the right time to put in the adhesive. The contractors use a towel during the parquet installation with adhesive. Make sure that the subfloor of the area is covered perfectly by the adhesive and only after that put in the panel whilst straighten it up with the lining.

Final touches:

Make sure that the panels are well placed and apply extra pressure if required. Many contractors doing parquet flooring UK based opt for rollers to do this work.
