Organic Gardening

Why Organic Gardening? Two main reasons.

1) Organic Gardening is important to our health and to the health of the ecosystem.

2) I've just finished writing a guide book about the need for organic gardening!

As mentioned in my book, "Your Easy Organic Gardening Guide," organic gardening is a way to acknowledge our interdependence with all life on Planet Earth.

"We live in a closed system. Everything we do affects everyone else, and even more importantly, we depend on each other for our survival. Taking responsibility for the impact we make is a first step in maintaining the fragile balance of the ecosystem we call home - Planet Earth."

Organic gardening has been a way of life for me since I started gardening when I was about 5 years old. I strayed from the path a few times, thinking there was a better, easier way. I was wrong! And, so I returned with new insight and a desire to share my knowledge.

Luckily, the Internet makes it easy to spread the word about the importance of reducing our reliance on chemicals that kill and poison.

Most people think using natural methods for gardening means smaller crops and bug eaten produce. This is not true! There are several organic, natural pest and disease controls available that prevent problems without creating more problems.

An example is Neem oil. Neem oil comes from a tree and is even used in cosmetics. It kills insects and prevents diseases. The only drawback is if you spray it on a beneficial insect, the oil will kill it by suffocation. Which is why following the instructions for use is so important.

More on this subject later. My book will soon be available - I will keep you posted! In the meantime, start planning your organic garden. :)
