Comment choisir un abri en bois pour votre jardin

If you think ordering a garden shed must first think what type of construction and any surface you need. If you have decided to buy a shelter plank kit, we hope our tips will be helpful.

If you need a wooden shed for your garden to spend some time there, a construction 5x4m is absolutely sufficient. Think about the location of furniture, perhaps you will discover that other dimensions will be more appropriate. Most often the garden sheds are one space dimensions 6x6m to 3x3m. Otherwise, construction custom tailored to your needs where the existing foundations are also possible.

Over the many years of manufacturing experience we realized constructions 6x24m in one space. We would like to note that usually logs are 6m lenght. If we make a frame construction (gears and failures) longer than 6m to shelter or cottage without internal partitions, it will control the beams against pasted surcharge. However, we can solve this problem by adding interior walls (so the weight of the building structure is divided on the exterior walls and interior partitions). So for shelter from 5x5m we recommend adding interior partitions.

If you think to spend your leisure in the wooden chalet , we recommend you choose a building with several separate rooms: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom etc.. You can choose a standard or a cottage tailored to your individual project.

Based on a surface of a garden shed and its destination, it must choose the thickness of the planks for your construction. For cons, the thickness of the planks is a factor that most influences the price of a shelter.

It is desirable to make the solid wood planks. The some manufacturers produce a game against wood planks glued (by sticking small pieces of wood with each other). In some cases (eg in the manufacture of doors and windows) the frame made of wood glued or laminated against is considered advantage.

The garden sheds thicker 28mm planks is adapted to keep the garden tools. Due profile single tongue and groove planks shelters can be 28mm to 3x3m. For larger than 3x3m we recommend choosing a wooden shed in thickness 34mm or more dimensions. The planks 34mm and 44mm are manufactured with double tongue and groove which ensures stability and tightness. In addition, from 34mm long screws (200mm) are included in the complectation. This also ensures the stability of the construction.

From 44mm double glazed doors and windows and sealing tape are included in the complectation.

Bigger than 4x4m we recommend making planks 44mm thick shelter. If you think of a holiday cottage with several separate rooms, one must think of thickness 68mm. The planks have 68mm profile triple tongue and groove.

However, planks 68mm does not guarantee heat as in the standard house. So first of all we recommend insulate the roof. In some models the double roof construction (Baltic, Lincoln, Bristol and houses double planks) is already included thereby insulate the roof with insulation materials.

If you think to spend more time in your chalet set in spring, autumn or even winter, we propose constructions double beams (eg 44-100-44mm or 68-150-68mm). The space for insulation can vary selons customer needs.

Note that the construction of our standard frames are called "light." They are not suited for heavy cover such as asphalt tiles, but not for real tiles. The construction is also suitable for supporting the load of snow in the winter so we must regularly clean the roof.
