Jul 7th 2014 at 9:04 PM

The acute myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death in Brazil. However, rapid patient care at the first symptoms of a heart attack, can reduce up to 20% cases of mortality and decrease the risk of heart damage .

Therefore, it is important to be aware of the signals sent by our body and thus can act immediately and decisively against this cardiovascular disease.

The acute chest pain is the main symptom of a heart attack. But this is not only indicative that we can identify the occurrence. The body usually sends signals to warn others that there is something wrong in our cardiac system.

The pain generated by infarction is feeling poorly defined because it can play anywhere between the bottom lip and the navel. Even though most cases register a pain that starts in the chest and spreads to the right arm, it is possible less characteristic symptoms occur.
Other symptoms of myocardial

Infarction can also manifest as neck pain and back pain, tingling in the arm , shortness of breath, fatigue, heartburn and excessive sweating. Ie, beyond the tightness of the heart, a person suffering a heart attack may have pain and discomfort throughout your thoracic region.

Women, in turn, also have less typical characteristics. Them, infarction may present with complaints of burning or prickling in the chest ,

a framework of breathlessness without pain may also occur. Symptoms are usually acute infarction, may also be diffuse, ie, capable of causing a malaise increasing and continuous which may persist for hours or even days.

Therefore, any pain in these regions of the body, to remain for more than 20 minutes should be investigated immediately, especially if associated with vomiting , cold sweats, severe weakness and palpitation.

Characteristic symptom
What defines the type of symptoms of infarction manifested by the body is blocked artery . When the patient has coronary artery obstruction in the above, located in front of the heart, acute chest pain and tingling in the left arm and hand arises.

If there is a plate cholesterol or a clot blocking the circumflex artery, which is located at the bottom of the heart, just above the stomach, it is common sensation of heartburn, burning and even gases - symptoms that could be confused with maldigestion.

If the obstruction is located in the posterior coronary artery, which is at the back of the heart, near the spine, the patient may experience severe back pain, which usually arise in moments of strong emotion or physical exertion too much.

Have infarction affecting the region of the diagonal coronary arteries, which is connected to the anterior descending coronary artery, generates a strong pressure in the jaw or neck.
Thus, it is clear that the patient may experience a range of symptoms of myocardial infarction. In the presence of some of these signs, seek immediate help on nearest emergency room because, despite the pain diminish over time, the damage may become more extensive and irreversible.
