Straight And Curved Stair Lifts

Dec 19th 2013 at 10:43 PM

stright curvedThe only group that is most affected by falls on stairs is the group of people who are over sixty-five. This group represents a large portion of Americans and even more than forty million people ago. Half of those who are over sixty five also suffer from conditions such as arthritis or Alzheimer's disease, which can make using the stairs difficult and often dangerous. To help reduce the risk of falling down the stairs, many people use stair lifts. Reducing the risks associated with the use of the stairs is incredibly important for people over sixty-five, due to a fall on the stairs is the most common of hospitalization and death among this group accidental cause.

Maybe it's easy to think that the stairs can be avoided and many decide to take this route, but this is neither desirable nor practical. This is because to avoid stairs also means avoiding a large part of your home and also usually require you to drastically reorganize your home. People using stair lifts are in a situation much lower risk of falling, because the stair lift does all the work to climb the stairs. Everyone should do is sit back and relax as if the goods are transported up or down the stairs. Of course some lifts are available that use small platforms called hangers instead of chairs. From the platform requires the occupant to stand, most people are advised against using this type of lift, unless medically necessary. To help increase security perch lifts, most have several places the rider can maintain and some even have a waist high support that the rider can lean against when moving up the stairs.

Most elevators use chairs and even the president comes in different sizes to accommodate the rider, but also to control the space ccontradad using the device. Many of the chairs can be folded when not in use, but this feature is not available on all models. In cases where the staircase is straight or 'L' shaped, an elevator can be easily installed and will be a cost effective alternative to an elevator, but people who have curved stairs are not so fortunate. Typically, a curved stair lift costs a hundred times more than a stair lift and can cost even more than that. The reason for the cost increase is the result of a standard non-uniform in the case of a curve of the stairs. Since the curve of a staircase is variable and usually reflects the architect who designed the house and the builder who built it, you need to be road lifts custom built to suit every staircase. Not only is this expensive, but also time and usually have more than six weeks.

Since the track is built custom, is not likely to work with other steps so that the resale value of a curved staircase lift is very low. Due to the high cost of a lift for a curved staircase, a residential elevator becomes much more attractive. Besides providing a very different service to allow people in wheelchairs and household supplies to be moved easily lifts also contribute greatly to increase the value of the house and when the time comes to sell the house, the lift actually increase the value of the home and become a good selling point.
