Shared stress is half the stress

Stressed because of the tight deadline? Or because you have to hold a speech Talk about it! New research shows that stress decreases when people discuss their stressful feelings with someone who is in the same boat.

Researchers gathered 52 participants. The subjects were divided into groups of two and were told that they had to give a speech. Much later That speech would be filmed. Before the subjects gave the speech, they were encouraged to share with their partner. The study shows that the stress of the subjects decreased when they spoke to someone who was just so stressed because of the speech. Shared stress is thus half the stress. "Imagine that you are one of two people working on an important project: if a lot of this project depends, can be a stressful situation," says researcher Sarah Townsend. "But when you work with someone with a similar profile to that the emotional stress that you experience limit."

However, the researchers emphasize: only when people are in terms of stress level on the same line. "So the question now is: How do we ensure that people seem it more alike? What can you do to generate? "That emotional agreements
