Overcrowding: the greatest moral dilemma in the world

Population In 2011, the seven billionth Earthlings was born. The expectation is that we are already in 2024 around eight billion. Impressive, especially if we remember that there is an average of 200,000 additional residents to come daily. With such figures strikes me the fear in his heart.

Can the earth feed all these people do? Is there enough energy for all of us, and perhaps most importantly to our beautiful planet, the amount of people to do? These are just some questions that come to mind when I think of overpopulation. One reason to shy away from these figures? Yes, population growth and, ultimately, the overcrowding is seen as a major cause of most problems on Earth. Whether it is a shortage of food, drinking water or energy, everyone has to do, or will have to do with it.

Overpopulation is a big taboo among many. Yet there once in a while someone gets up and makes us think about the consequences of overpopulation. So spent the economist Thomas Robert Malthus in the eighteenth century, overcrowding attention He published his findings in An Essay on the Principle of Population.

Malthus predicted that the Earth turns on its own growth under. He was of the opinion that the resources could not possibly keep up.
