Meaning of carbohydrates for humans

Aug 20th 2014 at 6:34 AM

Meaning of carbohydrates for humans is extremely important - is:

• Energy source
• Implementation of plastic functions
• Regulation of the nervous system
• The only source of energy for the brain
• Confrontation harmful bacteria and microbes
• Interchange between cells
• Transmission of signals from cell to cell.
• Deficiency of carbohydrates in the body

When the carbohydrates are sorely lacking, there is depletion of glycogen reserves in the liver, resulting in the deposition of fat in liver cells, and it does not function. Carbohydrate deficiency bodies compensate by proteins and fats. Fats begin to disintegrate in emergency mode, which leads to disruption of metabolic processes, and therefore, intensive formation of ketones. Excessive amounts of ketones leads to souring internal microflora and poisoning of the brain tissue with possible coma.

Excess carbohydrates in the body - Carbohydrate excess causes elevated levels of insulin in the blood and leads to the formation of fat and protein metabolism disruption. When a person decided to eat in one sitting, and lunch and dinner once, the body responds spike glucose production. It passes from the blood into the tissue by insulin, which stimulates synthesis of fats.

There is a rapid conversion of carbohydrates into fat. Insulin regulates carbohydrate metabolism and other hormones glucocorticoid enhancing synthesis of glucose from amino acids in the liver. Through this synthesis occurs running away pancreas hormone glucagon. These hormones act oppositely insulin.
