A team from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim looked at the effects of a number of different sports regimens in a total of 24 men. These men had to do with being overweight, but otherwise these men were completely healthy.

 

Over a period of about ten weeks were these men sports intensively three times a week. Here they walked on a treadmill with a high speed that their heart rate increased to 90 percent of the maximum possible. One half did this in sessions of four minutes, while the other half was each time on the treadmill sixteen minutes. This was further divided into pieces by four minutes.
