Holistic Medicine

Apr 14th 2020 at 4:04 AM

With the great advances in modern Western medicine, the holistic approach has lagged behind as people have created expectations about the improvements and growth of medicine. But since it became apparent that modern medicine could not cure everything and that certain chronic conditions did not respond to conventional treatments and that they could do more harm than good, the holistic approach was revived.

In India and China, healing traditions date back to 5000 years and centered on the concept of living in harmony with nature. The philosopher Socrates, in all his wisdom, stated:

The part can never be well, unless the whole is well.

When I started to study holistic medicine, I learned more about myself and my planet. The interaction with these two worlds was notorious and wonderful. Everything was perfectly framed just like a puzzle. The cooperation between me and nature was fantastic. Between my senses and the vital energy itself.

The term "holism" was primarily categorized by Jan Christian Smuts in 1926 to describe the phrase "everything that is greater than the sum of its parts". However, the term holistic did not reach modern vocabulary until the 1970s.

The holistic healing approach has become a much more attractive option. Today, a holistic health lifestyle meets the growing demands of those seeking to achieve a maximum level of vitality, well-being and general health.

Holistic therapy focuses not only on illness, injury or a problem in general, but on the person as a whole - mind, body and soul. It is a form of healing that takes the whole person into account. It is a treatment option that promotes healing, treating the whole person based on the principle that when a part of the person is ignored it causes the whole system to become unbalanced.

The idea that all elements of a human being must be considered to promote health and well-being comes from holism. Holism is a philosophy whose main objective is to promote health and ultimate well-being. Working in unison with conventional medicine, holistic therapies are designed to incorporate various forms of "alternative therapies" to achieve their goals.

Alternative therapy is seen as the opposite of conventional medicine. Many alternative treatments are derived from oriental practices such as herbalism, traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy and others that are also used in holistic care. Practitioners of this form of therapy are known as doctors; However, they are called "Naturopathic" or "Chiropractic" doctors.

Holistic treatment is used to explore the whole person to find possible problems underlying their illness or affliction and then address those that are applicable in the treatment plan. If treatment is given only to a part, the client cannot really experience complete healing because other aspects of his being are being ignored as well.

When a client enters my office or my partners' offices, they receive a thorough assessment, including an in-depth look at their history, lifestyle, thoughts, feelings and then receive treatment options based on who they are as individuals.

We holistic professionals also work to help you be more effective. We do this through a variety of options, such as:

  • · Education for lifestyle changes and self-care;
  • · Different therapies and treatments;
  • · Exercise and diet change;
  • · Spiritual counseling;
  • · Mental health and relationship advice;

Each of these options is used to explore our customers' inner corners of life and to filter out other underlying causes and problems. It is all part of the unique holistic treatment.

The main benefits you can receive from holistic treatment include the following:

  • · Direct support in your treatment so that it is included and consulted at each step;
  • · Effective, non-invasive, natural alternative medicines and treatments that guarantee the lowest possible risk of damage;
  • · Be seen as a person and not as a disease;

The principles of holistic medicine are essentially based on this care. Optimized and worked health is always the first and main objective of the practice of holistic therapy. This means that a person's general well-being and balance including physical, environmental, social, mental, emotional and spiritual balance must be addressed and cured, regardless of whether or not a disease exists. One of the characteristics of holistic care is to treat all customers with kindness, acceptance and love.

Clients are always seen as whole people, and assessment and treatment plans are based on all aspects of the body, mind, spirit and environment in which they reside.

Contrary to the traditional medicine mentality of treating and addressing symptoms, holistic health professionals take the approach of promoting well-being and disease prevention through awareness. By addressing symptoms along with several contributing factors, they strive to improve all aspects of the client's life for better well-being.

The holistic model believes that all people have innate healing powers and therefore work to allow people to come into contact with these skills and use them in the healing process.

In addition, holistic health care professionals include all types of treatment methods in their care plans. They accept all viable options that may include various alternative therapies, complementary treatments and conventional methods, such as medication and surgery, and use them in their diagnoses and treatments.

Contrary to what you will probably find in your doctor's office, the relationship between a holistic professional and the client is based on open, autonomous communication, respect and appreciation of the insights provided by the practitioner and the client. This type of quality relationship is at the center of the effectiveness of holistic treatment.

All clients are unique individuals and when we talk about holistic health care, as opposed to conventional medicine, the individual's specific needs and circumstances are addressed and not the specific illness they suffer from.

Holistic health professionals strive to incorporate all the principles of holistic health into their own lives.

Holistic philosophy believes that every single life experience is an opportunity to learn, and this applies to both the client and the practitioner.

In short, holistic treatment comes with complete health and wellness benefits through a variety of treatment options that best suit you.

These are designed to address and heal as a whole, including your mind, body and spirit in all treatment options and plans.
