Facial Wrinkles Can Indicate A Weak Bone Structure
According to a new study could provide wrinkled face some important information about the health of your bones.
Says a researcher in the study, a specialist in endocrinology, and this information may help us to identify women at risk of bone fractures at a glance, without dependence on costly tests."
This has Pal and her colleagues studied a sample of 114 women aged between the late forties and early fifties, and they had experienced their last menstrual cycle during the past three years, was not taking any hormonal therapy.
The researchers gave each woman for evaluating wrinkles her face and neck sites based on the number and depth of wrinkles. They also measured the flexibility/skin packs on their foreheads and cheeks using a udometer, while the measured bone density using X-rays.
Result: The bone density in women with fewer wrinkles worse than women with smoother faces.
This relationship between wrinkles and bone density was evident in all the bones, where the researchers examined the bones - hip, spine, and heel - away from the old, and the percentage of fat in the body, and many other factors known to affect bone density, and most importantly, the associated flexibility and packs the facial skin and the front with bone density.
Bones and skin share the common building blocks - a group known as the protein collagen. When we get older can be reflected in a change in the nature of collagen on the skin, including the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin, in addition to weak bones.
We still need to study lengthy to prove the relationship between wrinkles and the risk of fracture bone. Ultimately, we want to know whether the unit skin wrinkles can allow the identification of women at risk of fractures, especially the neck, groin or hip, an injury is often fatal for older people.
