Children and antipyretics

Medicinal products based on acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin, Andol ...), children under the age of 16 years, lowering high body temperature may not enjoy. Acetylsalicylic acid in children can cause a disease called Reye's syndrome affects the health of the liver and brain. Paracetamol (calpol, Lekadol, Panadol, Daleron ...) in pediatric certainly the most widely used antipyretic.

For the children's use of market offers paracetamol syrup for oral and suppository for rectal administration. Receipt in the 15 mg / kg every 4-6 hours. Maximum daily dose is 60mg/kg.

Ibuprofen (Advil, Ibuprofen ...) is the second most common drug that is recommended for reducing high body temperature, but it is taking appropriate only for children older than six months. Receipt of it every 6-8 hours at a dose of 5-10mg/kg.

The drug is not normally used in combination with other medicines. Diclofenac (Naklofen, ...) is used as an antipyretic in exceptional cases, usually in hospitals under the watchful eye of medical
