Sep 22nd 2014 at 2:54 AM

Changing lifestyle, increased comfort level, too many fatty and sugary foods, and no physical exercise, these are just a couple of factors associated with the life most of us are living these days. It is common to enjoy a lavish lifestyle, eat whatever you wish to, but one has to be cautious about the health as well. You must not take it for granted.

With the additional fatty foods with high LDL cholesterol causing agents, you are posing threat to your heart as well as arteries. LDL cholesterol or low density lipoprotein cholesterol is not good for health at all. It forms plaque like formation in our blood streams, affecting the blood flow in the long term and in the end, affecting the heart.

Increased level of low density lipoprotein or LDL cholesterol is the biggest cause of hardening of the arteries better known as Atherosclerosis. It is generally happened in the later years of life, when your body is unable to fight back. However, with poor eating habits, such condition can also arise in early years as well. Entering the arterial walls, the bad cholesterol forces the white blood cells to form plaque like substance on digesting the low density lipoprotein.

Over a period of years, this accumulating mass starts blocking the arteries, making it difficult for the blood to flow properly. With this, there are a couple of other health effects that can pose threat to your heart and overall health.  This condition can also arise due to high blood cholesterol levels, blockage of smaller arteries.

· Consumption of food with high levels of saturated and trans fats.

· Consumption of high levels of alcohol, or smoking

· Less exercise or physical activities,

· Obesity.

· Diabetes,

· High blood pressure,

· Family history of heart diseases or such condition.

It is essential to check on the symptoms and rectify the condition before anything bad happens to your health. In case you do not indulge into any type of physical exercise, eat a lot of fatty foods, and have family history of the diseases, you need to be a little careful about your health condition. Some of the symptoms are:

· Shortness of the breath,

· Pain in the chest,

· Ailments related to intestine, kidneys, legs and brain

All of them are a sort of symptoms associated with the disease, although not so much clearer. Avoid it, by following a healthy lifestyle; eat food cooked in fats with high HDL or good cholesterol.
