What You Don’t Know About H2O
1. Drinks with caffeine do not help you stay dehydrated. You may not need much of caffeine. Thirst is a reliable indicator of water needs, there is no reason to tote a water bottle around, unless you’re exercising or in a hot dry environment.
2. Mixed alcoholic drinks help dehydrate the body. Caffeinated drinks are diuretics, but they still add, in part, to fluid intake.
3. Drinking water while eating does not help digestion. Many mixed drinks contain water, they can still dehydrate the body like straight alcohol.
4. Oxygenated water does not help the muscle nor improve performance. The stomach needs water for digestion, but it gets it from the body.
